An estimated 90% of the world's platinum reserves and 41% of the world's gold reserves are located in South Africa. The country is therefore one of the world's most important countries in terms of mineral deposits and mining. The other African countries are also in no way inferior in terms of the wealth of valuable natural resources.
Currently, due to the global platinum deficit, demand has increased by 28% compared to last year, especially in the industrial and automotive sectors. South Africa's natural resources are still primarily intended for export markets. In 2022 alone, exports of raw materials amounted to over EUR 51 billion. The mining sector continues to boom. This makes innovative solutions, technologies and services, especially to increase efficiency, all the more in demand. These are also in demand from the renewable energy sector. The mining sector is one of the main drivers towards a greener, but also more stable, energy supply for South Africa.
Take advantage of this trend and accompany the Johannesburg Foreign Trade Center on an economic mission that will take place around Africa's most important mining event - the African Mining Indaba - in Cape Town.
Explore the potential of your mining solutions in Africa and network with key industry stakeholders. Over 8,000 delegates from more than 100 countries, over 900 investors and over 700 mining executives await you.
Organizational details The total price of EUR 2,000 consists of a cost estimate of EUR 1,500 per person and a participation fee of EUR 500 per company (for chamber members), which are each collected separately. The total price therefore includes the participation fee for the Africa Mining Indaba and a supporting program organized by the Johannesburg Foreign Trade Center. We are also happy to help you organize individual appointments during our economic mission.
The event is part of the internationalization initiative go-international , a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economics and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.
Please note the de minimis commissions in connection with funding.
